Dehiowita Pradeshiya Sabha area in the Kegalle District of the Sabaragamuwa Province covers an area of ​​220.6 square kilometers and consists of 39 Grama Niladhari Divisions. It has a population of about 85,132 and is represented by 34 members of the public. The scenic beauty of the mountains and waterfalls as well as the biodiversity of the ecosystem add value to the area.Also, the historical ruins of the Seethawaka Kingdom which have ancient value have added value to this area. Agriculture related to tea, coconut, rubber and minor export crops are the main livelihoods in the area.

To make the Pradeshiya Sabha area an ecologically developed area with a healthy environment through the provision of public health, public utilities, public roads and other facilities for the well-being, convenience and welfare of the people by utilizing the existing resources efficiently and effectively.

The Dehi Oivita Pradeshiya Sabha was awarded the third place (bronze award) in the public sector in the best annual report selection competition of the year conducted by the Association of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Public Finance Association.

Dehiovita Pradeshiya Sabha was awarded third place in the public sector in the 2020 National Productivity Awards held by the National Productivity Secretariat.

Dehiowita Divisional Secretariat in the Kegalle District out of the two Districts in the Sabaragamuwa Province Other Divisional Secretariats It is the fourth largest area and its total land area is 18608.09 hectares. 39 Grama Niladhari Divisions belong to this division.
